Is sewing truly a therapy?
Oh, this is a nice subject. Been thinking about it lately,..I guess the need to get into sewing is the real issue, why do we sew?.
I often question myself why bother?.. it is cheaper to get ready made cloths, beautiful, faultless and to my taste, OK! Sometimes expensive, but it gives me more joy , pleasure and confidence.SO,why do I bother spend hours in front of the sewing machine (I also spend hours in front of my computer). Doesnt this drag you to loneliness?
Oh well, I guess the tip is to treat sewing as a hobby and not as a Job, IF we want to enjoy it. Sewing it is meant to be therapeutic not making you getting stressed, your mind has to be cleared, we are supposed to be loving what we are making and not releasing that anger. To be honest, if I ever feel like things are not in order, sewing could make things worse, and a start to a bad day and here is the tips from Singer as the first steps of preparing for the sewing to be enjoyed, very cleverly put in no particular ORDER! :)

Hello readers,
I have taken a challenge this week to make this bag. The pattern is from Maccall M6532,; and I am quiet satisfied with it, and it looks pretty. I have attached a nice label from an old top as you can see, it has one pocket on the front and five small pockets in the inside.
It is meant to be a baby changing bag for a friend as she doesn't want blue or pink colours!! so found these lovely colours, i thought they look nice, wasn't sure about them but the fabric is a very soft cotton and it will do the job anyway!
It was not difficult to make, was enjoyable.
full review also can be found in here.

Hello....So I took this challenge this week to make a dress out of Vogue patterns V8848. I must admit it wasn't quiet easy for a new sewer, I have only started learning to sew last summer 2012!!.. in this project, I learnt many things though! in particular the sides where tricky (pivoting stitch, that was my problem). But got it at the end ;). This is the envelop.
I can see what the adjustments are.. the arms are not a problems as i just wanted to see how they look, which i am not having in my future dress, they will be a lot shorter.
I am going to make a dress soon, and see if I can match this brilliant version, so beautiful well done!

You will need three different types of fabric measured as follows:
The outside piece 19 inches across and 10 deep cut 2, and another two from a different colour fabric.
Top part 13 inches across and 4 deep cut four pieces;
The handles 20-22 across and 3-4 deep cut 2 pieces.
and here is the video :) Happy sewing!
